Parging Inside Garage Foundation & Brick Replacement

Another great experience from my go-to masonry company. In April I noticed a white material on inside the garage on the foundation and I was worried that it would compromise the integrity of the foundation.

Greg and Joe informed me that it was efflorescence. Joe used hydraulic cement to parge one whole side and and the portion of the other side that was affected and educated me on the product he used and why it will help with the issue. He also replaced a few cracked bricks in my garage centre column and pointed them as well.

In addition he caulked my side door to prevent water from getting in behind the bricks so that it doesn’t lead to further issues in the garage.

As on past projects, he was personable, professional, and very thorough. His work is of the highest quality and it just makes me feel so good that I can call A&A whenever I have any masonry issues or projects and know what results I’m going to get.

Interlocking Stone Front Patio And Walkway

We are incredibly happy with the work that was done on our front walkway and patio. The original state of it was not great, as you can see by the pictures. The original flagstone was cracking and falling off, resulting in a fairly dangerous walkway.

We called A&A Masonry, and received a quick response. MaryAnna and Morgan were super helpful in arranging and facilitating the job. Bill and Thomas came and cleared out the old and did an amazing job installing the new. Not only did they install the interlocking stone but they were incredibly helpful in their suggestions and went above the call of duty to make sure that it looked great.

For example, if they followed the grade of the driveway, the patio would have too much of a slope, so they planned to flatten the patio out and have it raised above the level of the driveway. The problem was that the stone we had purchased for the border did not have an external face.

Bill and Thomas took back part of the stone and exchanged it at the vendor (Boulders) for border stones with an exterior face that would match the front stone step. Bill and Thomas worked quickly and finished the job in only a few days.

I am incredibly pleased with the experience we had, and unreservedly recommend A&A Masonry for whatever you might need. We will definitely be using them again. Huge thanks to the team at A&A!

Parging, Brick Restoration And Tuck Pointing

Many thanks to the Ronaldo and his great crew! Team arrived promptly and attention to detail was provided to fix a brick pillar between the garage doors at the front of the house. In addition, repairs were done to a “step crack” in the front of the house, and an eroding brick window sill. Ronaldo rebuilt our brick lamp post and replaced the fixture.

The team thoroughly cleared the sides of the house and did smooth parging over eroding foundation walls. Very professional job!
The crew cleaned up thoroughly as part of wrap-up, even washing the driveway.

Definitely recommend A&A Masonry for your brick work.

Front Patio Refinishing

Our large front patio needed to be re-leveled and have some of the stone work repaired and replaced. Bill and his team did a high quality job refinishing the front patio. They were able to do the job within a week of first calling over the course of 2 days. They also did a great job matching the existing stonework where new stones needed to be brought in.

Overall, I’m extremely pleased with the quality of work, the responsiveness of the team, and the professionalism throughout the job.

Stair Wall Repair

The side wall on my stairs which was faux stone, was pulling away from the side creating a gap between the stone and the wall. Water was leaking inside the gap and I wanted it repaired as well as my steps.

Dwight was the stone mason who came to repair and he did a great job. He was able to provide a solution to a bad situation. He finished the job quickly and his attention to detail was impressive. He ended up parging the side walls of my steps and fixing some the steps in need.

The whole team did a great job, Hayden provided helpful information and assured me it could be done quickly, Andy was able to schedule me in right away to do the repair.

Tuck Pointing And Parging Around House On All Sides

Dwight did a fantastic job on our home. I explained to Dwight all of the issues we have been having and he listened patiently and addressed my concerns. Our home is over 30 years old. There were several cracks in the mortar on the front of our house and the brick was starting to loosen.

All the cracks were fixed and the job was done very professionally. We also had all sides of our house parged. There were some difficult and challenging areas to parge as we have armour rock and landscaping beds around the front of our house.

Dwight carefully dug the soil away from our foundation and parged theses areas which was time consuming.

Dwight worked until 8:30pm to finish the job. We couldn’t be happier with the work done on our home.

Brickwork Repair Was Excellent

Stone Step And Concrete Porch Repairs

We have expensive and large stone front entrance stone stairs (about 15 stairs) that were improperly cemented and were all coming loose and crating an eyesore and safety hazard. Replace Stone On Front Steps & Parging

We had a great experience with A&A Masonry. Within 2 days of my call, Maryanna came out to out house to discuss options and provide an estimate for replacement of the stone on our front steps and parging work.

Then within a week Maya and her team came out and completed the job quickly and efficiently. The quality of the work was excellent and we couldn’t be happier with the results. Maya was great to work with and kept me up to date frequently while the work was underway.

I would absolutely recommend A&A and will go to them again in the future for any masonry work. Great job!

A & A Masonry responded to our request for a quote and the work was completed within week. Sophie acknowledged our online request, Greg gave us an estimate, Andy called to confirm a date and time and Dwight was sent to do the work.

We were very pleased with Dwight’s work, he arrived on time, was very respectful and very thorough in his workmanship. Dwight took his time and cleaned everything up when he was done. It was a pleasure to have him at our home for the day.

The price seemed a little high, but it was worth every penny. Very satisfied with the whole experience and would use them again.

Minor Job, But Still Great Service

I found A&A Masonry on HomeStars, and Greg came to my property to take a look at some minor preventative repairs I needed. He was friendly, professional, gave good advice, and pointed out a couple of areas that could use work that I missed, but immediately agreed with his assessment.

Dwight came to do the repairs after that, and was prompt, quick, and did a great job. The downside was that his repairs looked better than some of the original spots! Obviously, that’s not a downside: it was a job well done, and I’d call A&A again in the future.

Exterior Brick Mortar Repair

We needed to repair the exterior brick mortar at the back of our house which caused water leakage into the eat-in area. We read the good reviews of AA Masonry on HomeStars website so we called them up

Masonry Work

I had an unusual masonry job at the foundation of a house. It was not a big job and required a creative solution. Some contractors I contacted didn’t want to bother or didn’t know what to do because it wasn’t a typical job.

Greg was very professional, understood the problem and came up with a very creative solution that addressed the foundation problem. As it was not a typical job he volunteered to do the job himself along a helper. The work was done quickly over 2 days and Greg was great to deal with. The office staff was also very organized with calls, invoicing etc. This company is very professional and I highly recommend them for any masonry work.

Beautiful Stonework

I had broken stone on my stairs and broken railings. I also needed the foundation parged. I had a hard time finding a company to do the work. A & A Masonry responded within a day and Maryanna came out quickly to give me a quote.

Stone Foundation Repair

When I found holes in my 100 year old stone foundation, I called AA Masonry for a quote. Greg came out, obviously knew his stuff, explained thoroughly what was needed, answered all my questions, and quoted a great price for the job. He called the next Saturday, said he could do it the next day! So on a Sunday, Greg and John Came out and did a fantastic job! Friendly, knowledgeable, skilled, and went above and beyond to do the job right! Greg even pointed some of the bricks on the other side of the house. The repair looks great. I would recommend them to anyone!

Backyard Paving

Our backyard walkway and patio area needed to be fully repaved in 2017. A&A did a great job installing it all. While there were some repairs needed after the first winter – and although communication wasn’t their strong suit – A&A followed through with their warranty coverage and repaired the few cracks that had appeared and ensured I was satisfied with their work. I would recommend others hire A&A in the future.

Patio And Walkway

The project was quoted by salesman and started when the weather finally got better. It was a great deal of work but we appreciated the minimal disruption to the existing landscaping. A large amount of material was removed and replaced with concrete and flagstone in an orderly fashion. The finished project is beautiful and we are very satisfied. All facets of the project were completed as promised and changes, when requested, were fulfilled.

Threshold Replacement And Parging

First of all, it took only 8 days from initial contact until everything was done! David, who came to give us an estimate, is an extremely nice guy, explained everything we needed to know, suggested what had to be done and even showed us the problems (nothing major but had to be fixed) that we haven’t even noticed before.

The main problem was a broken threshold under the sliding door into our backyard and crumbling foundation in a few places. The work done by Dwight was great and even exceeded our expectations.

New limestone threshold looks amazing, cinder blocks put in place of crumbling bricks behind the steps look good and solid, and the foundation looks like new after parging done. Everything was cleaned up perfectly after the work was done. If we ever need masonry contractor A&A will definitely be the company we call. Thank you!!!

Chimney And Front Porch Stone

Our original plan was the chimney rebuild of a 1930’s bungalow which had been partially repaired about 8 years previously, but still had a base in poor shape.

A & A was the quickest supplier to respond in order to set an appointment in Nov 2018. In the process of meeting with David for a quote on the chimney, he recommended us on stone for our concrete slab porch as both a way to preserve the concrete which would have been almost 30 years old and was developing extensive pitting as well as creating a much more attractive entrance. Tablet in hand with photos he made a convincing argument.

Both crews (Rinaldo et al on the chimney and Maya and her masons on the stone porch) who did the work were efficient, tidy, and communicative providing clear recommendations for locations to choose stone, where to drop deliveries of supplies, answering questions about the work, and the quality of work was fantastic.

A Job Well Done!

Background ~ I have a 15-year-old Mattamy home and the “above grade” portion of my foundation was crumbling. In addition to that, there was moisture seeping through the foundation into my garage and cold cellar, causing the interior foundation to crumble.

Service Call ~ I went through the issues with Greg from A&A, who was friendly and polite. Within a few hours of going over the project, he provided an incredibly detailed and thorough quote (including pictures with notes), outlining the work to be done and scope of the project.

Installation ~ On the day of installation, Mitch and I went over the details of the work he was going to do and he went to work right away. Not only was he very polite and friendly, I have to say, this guy is a workhorse! He worked all day and partly into the evening without stop! He did a fantastic job and i couldn’t be happier with the result!

Pricing ~ Upon reflection, my only “complaint” would be about pricing, as I believe it was a little on the “high end” based on the amount of hours spent and materials used. I’m not unhappy, my ONLY regret is that I didn’t try to barter a little at quote time and that’s on me.

Conclusion ~ A good company with good people doing good work. A job well done! Thanks guys.

Repair Exterior Brick Window Sills And Exterior Parging

I needed to get 2. full window sill brickwork replaced and also some brickwork replaced between garage doors as well as repairing some exterior parging. Brick Work On External Wall

I had a small wall on my porch removed and that creates a big dent in my front door wall. A&A Masonry was hired to fix the issue along with other small cracks around the house.

Needed some general upkeep on my brick bungalow. A&A Masonry is hands down the most professional company I’ve dealt with.

Prompt service overall, thorough attentiveness and fair and honest estimate from Brad. No gauging, took seriously the pride in my home despite being a smaller repair job.

Exterior Brickwork

My work details are as follows: I had recently purchased home that needed a door in the kitchen to be removed and replaced with a window; a bay window removed and sliding door put in its place; chimney (base) repair.

I researched a few other companies before deciding to request a quote from A&A Masonry. I spoke with David V. over the phone and scheduled an appointment.

David is a great salesman. He was friendly; built rapport quickly; was easy to talk with on a personal level.
When it came to the scope of work he gave me the full suite (most expensive) of options and allowed me to choose what I prioritized as important to determine our scope of work. Most importantly when it came down to pricing he was transparent b/c I had no idea how expensive masonry work was until we started this exercise.

Once the scope of work was completed and dates were set I communicated with Andy via email and over the phone. The renovations at the home took longer than expected and each time I postponed our work start he was patient and understanding.

Finally, once the start date rolled around I met the installer. His Name is Dwight S. At first I hoped that one of the A&A’s was going to be doing the work on the home but after seeing Dwight’s attention to detail and his work I knew I was in good hands. Dwight worked through some tough fall conditions and still was able to deliver exceptional results.

As an added layer of complexity; I was doing the framing and knock outs myself and had the window installers on-site as well. Dwight was able to work well with all the different crews which; with the wrong people can add tension and friction, however, thankfully this was never the case.

I highly recommend the whole team at A&A (including Libby who handled payment) and specifically those mentioned here. I hope this review helps.

Waterproofing Basement

We hired A & A Masonry to waterproof our basement. We were promised that the work would be done within the next 2 weeks. True to their word, they were ready to begin about 5 days after the contract was signed.

The work took a day and a half to complete. The workers were unobtrusive, answered our questions satisfactorily, cleaned up well and did good quality work, all at a reasonable cost.

We had a sump pump installed and are now applying to the city for a rebated of approximately $1800.

Quick Job, Happy With Results

I needed the removal of old (crappy) parging, install concrete blocks at the ground level, to have some old bricks replaced, and to have a wall and post tuck pointed.

The whole thing was very quick and Joe & Kyle were friendly and did great work. I was nervous about the new mortar looking, well, new and the colour match was / is perfect. About a dozen bricks were replaced and you literally are unable to pick them out. Plus they killed a wasps nest while they were here!

Basement Walkout Removal

I hired A&A Masonry to demolish a walkout, waterproof and fill in. Masonry work was done to satisfaction, but cut stucco was left unfinished. The crew said someone else will be sent to finish the stucco; but David, the project manager said it wasn’t included. When signing the contract, he mentioned that the stucco will need to be cut, but never mentioned that it will be left unfinished and will be my responsibility. Now I’m left with an unfinished stucco border which looks terrible.

Brick Repair (Pointing And Replacement) In A Difficult Area

We hired A&A to repair the bricks+mortar under our front porch and back deck, which were decayed to the point that rodents were able to force holes into our house. This involved pointing as well as replacing bricks.

Parging Repair And Reconstruction

We wanted to repair the crumbling parging at the side of our house and called A&A and a few other companies. A&A was the first to call back and Greg was on site the next day to provide a quote.

Based on what was discovered by the work crew, more work was needed, but Andy was able to adjust the quote and provide me with a lower price.

Dwight was on site for two days and he was excellent! He knocked off loose parging and attached wire mesh to ensure the new cement would stick. The final product is very smooth and I can appreciate the attention to detail around the windows.

Great Work, Speedy Service

Found A&A Masonry on Homestars. Our 100 yr old house had spalling bricks. Greg came to our place shortly after calling for inspection and quote.

We had Dwight come by and do the job and he did a great job. He was a champ and did a 12 hr day in the blistering heat (humidex in the 40s!) to complete the job in one day.

The brick was matched very well, considering the original brick hasn’t been made in years. and most of it had to be done around our gas line. Still, Dwight got it all done.

Chimney Repair And Waterproofing

We needed to fix our chimney based on the advice of a contractor for some previous work and we had noticed some water stains developing in our basement.

We called A&A Masonry as they appeared to be able to help with both of these issues.
Right from our first contact with the company to the final work being completed, we were incredibly pleased.

The masonry crew of Ronaldo and Augusto were extremely professional, explained what they were doing to our very curious 3-year old son (which he loved!) and did excellent work.

Our waterproofing was done by Alex and his crew in a very tight area of the house but they managed to complete the work with minimal disturbances to the surrounding area and took the time to explain what they were doing to me (and again, to our very curious 3-year old son).

Exterior Foundation Repair And Basement Waterproofing

We are very happy with another fine job from A&A Masonry. Several years ago A&A did a superb job of interior waterproofing in our basement.

This time we needed repairs to the exterior where water was coming in through a breach at the point where our old foundation meets a newer extension – which had never been waterproofed by the builder.

Alex and his crew dug down to the footings (by hand!) and worked their magic in a very cramped spot between ours and our neighbour’s house, repairing some ‘impressive’ cracks and adding new state-of-the art waterproofing membranes and drainage tiles.

Porch Repair

We hired A&A to make some repairs to my parents’ flagstone porch. It is important to me to feel that the people dealing with my parents are being fair, doing a good job for them and will treat them with respect and kindness.

Mike and April were the team that did the work, and they were amazing. The work was done quickly and professionally, and they were absolutely great with my parents.

The first day they showed up to just to scope out the job and materials they would need, but they took the time to remove all of the loose stone and make sure that the steps were completely safe for my parents to use until they came back. They took the time to listen to my parents concerns and tried to address everything they wanted.

The result and the clean up were great. I also really liked dealing with Greg and with the office staff.

The online booking method was good and would be really nice for people with larger jobs: you can track progress and address any concerns with the work. It is not so good for folks who don’t want to use the computer – like my parents, but I have no doubt that they would accommodate technophobes equally as well.

After a storm we realised a brick had fallen out of our wall and a number of bricks were ready to fall out too. Chris spoke to me on the phone and discussed the project with me and gave me a ballpark quote. He then came and checked out the wall and actually lowered his original price. Window Sill And Tuck-Pointing

Due to water leaks that have since been repaired, I had some crumbled bricks on the window sills and missing mortar on the brickwork. Brian and Joe fixed both problems, replacing the window sill bricks with natural limestone and filling in the missing mortar. The limestone window sills look better than the original brick ones did before they crumbled and the replacement grout matches perfectly. I am pleased with the new look.

Replacing Base Brick Courses With Ceramic Brick. Brick Parging

We needed some parging done, but after consultation with David Vena, we decided to replace some brick and then parge. He was great to work with and very helpful.

Masonry Repairs

When we purchased our home, we were unaware that we would require as many small, challenging masonry repairs. Sadly, after removing our patio cover, we needed some quite challenging repairs, involving broken bricks, missing window lintels, and several rows of irregularly sized brick installation.
Kyle and Rick were dispatched from A&A, and did an amazing job for us. They were prompt, polite, and very professional. The quote was for a day of work, and as the job revealed itself, it expanded to more than that timeframe. The work was excellent, and blends in with our existing brick and mortar seamlessly.
Cleanup with brick and brick cutting can be brutal, and they left us in great shape upon completion. I could not have been happier with my experience with A&A.

Front Walkway & Porch Resurfacing

Some bricks had deteriorated by the front porch of our 1940’s brick house. Greg came and gave an estimate. Dwight was able to take them out, match them and the grout and make it look the same. Window Sill Replacement And Foundation Repairs

I contacted A&A Masonry to have both a missing piece in the corner of our foundation and to see what could be done about our brick sills, which were cracking and breaking. I spoke with Joe to get a quote and I explained that I would like to have the work done as soon as possible. Joe was great – he said he would put a rush on it. 24 hours after meeting with Joe, I received a call from Andy to say that Ruairi and James would arrive the next morning.
Ruairi and James were excellent. They were polite and friendly. Their work was fabulous. The work looks wonderful. Their clean up was above and beyond all my expectations. At the end of the first day, when a rain storm moved in, they still did a completely thorough clean up. They exceeded all of our expectations.
From the time I submitted an email request for a quote to the job being completely finished, I was always kept informed about the job and what to expect next. They were quick to respond to my initial email. Everyone I dealt with at A&A Masonry was polite, friendly and professional. I felt completely comfortable with all their staff at all times. Overall an excellent experience and a job excellently done.

Brick And Mortar Repair

Found A&A Masonry on Home Stars and requested a quote for mortar and brick repair on a 3 story Edwardian house. Got a call from Hayden who responded to my request for a quote and my need to have the work done within a 2 week period or sooner. I met with Hayden and showed him the problem areas. He explained what work would be done and how. Hayden conveyed the urgency of my request to Andy, who is one of the 2 owners of A&A. Andy accommodated my request and sent Kyle to do the job. Kyle was an easy going, diligent mason who took pride in his work. Kyle performed solo on the job which took 2.5 days to complete. He arrived on time each day. He also took the liberty to re-caulk my 2nd floor windows as he was repairing bricks around the window frames. He even pulled a few weeds out of my eavestrough as one of my “favours” while he was on the roof and he was very kind to oblige. The A&A staff demonstrated service beyond my expectations with their prompt response, detailed proposal/quote, and their efforts to accommodate my tight timeline for completion. Vlad, Alex and Eugene from A&A Masonry did a spectacular waterproofing job! I recently bought a house in Stoney Creek that was built in 1983. Upon moving into the house, I had noticed that the basement is damp. A&A Masonry was prompt and professional in pinpointing the problem. After removing drywall in the basement they pointed to several cracks in the foundation. Vlad, Alex and Eugene arrived a week later and began the waterproofing. They are very hardworking guys and professional in explaining all the steps of the work that they were doing. After excavating the foundation of my house, they waterproofed it by applying special treatment. They’ve done everything in a very clean and tidy manner, despite the harsh autumn rains and weather. We recently replaced our back deck, and when the old deck came down we noticed some small areas that needed re-tuckpointing. We had some previous tuckpointing work done by A & A Masonry and were very pleased with their work so I called them again to come and provide us an estimate. Our timeline was tight as the new deck was rapidly going in and the repair area would have been hidden by the new deck. Re-Bricking And Concrete Pouring

Hired A&A because of how highly rated they were here on HomeStars. We were having brick work done on the front of the house and a new concrete slab poured in the basement and the new mud room. Before we signed off on the project we explained that we needed the concrete slab poured in two parts. Once for the basement itself so that we could proceed with installing the furnace etc, and one more time. No problem. Interior Waterproofing, Sump Pump, Concrete

A bit pricey but we are very satisfied with this company. We had water issues for the past twenty years and finally Colm, who did the waterproofing, did a fantastic job of fixing the problem! He was not only professional and courteous but he showed us, in detail, step by step progress of the work and answered all our questions. We are extremely satisfied with his work. If anyone needs waterproofing ask for Colm. We would use A&A Masonry again and we highly recommend this company.

Tuck Pointing-New Mortar

Helical Piles / Foundation Repair

Back of house developed cracks due to water getting in between the bricks. Damage was so bad that the top of the house looked like it was shifting away from the bottom of the house. A&A Masonry sent a rep who acted as the project manager and oversaw the project from start to finish. No project is without its hiccups but A&A stood behind their word and in the end, repaired the house on time and somewhat on budget.

Parging Exterior Wall And Replace 3 Lintels

Dwight is the man! I had some parging of an exterior wall and 3 lintels that needed to be replaced. Dwight was amazing. Professional, courteous and incredibly good at his job. I tried to fix some of the small exterior cracks on the walls and after watching Dwight correct and fix my work I can appreciate the skill and hard work that goes into doing it right. I would highly recommend A&A Masonry and specifically Dwight for any of your masonry needs! I can be confident in this review because the work was done on my house 3 years ago and it looks as good as the day it was done. The reason I waited so long is partially because I completely forgot to write this review and I remembered promising Dwight that I would review him. I figured I owed it to Dwight for all of his hard work. He even parged some additional cracks he noticed which were not part of the original quote.

Pillar, Stairs, Removal Of Retaining Wall, Parging

This project, which started as a simple removal of a retaining wall and redoing the stairs, turned into something much larger with rebuilding a pillar and making everything structurally sound. We were really impressed by Jose and his crew. They went out of their way to make sure everything was done properly. They worked tirelessly and the end result was fantastic. We could not have asked for better workers. Jose and the crew cleaned up after every single work day, worked through 35 degree heat, and made sure our house is as good as it could possibly be. The stone work ended up being amazing and the brick pillar looks incredible. We asked for them to fill in some simple parging, and they ended up going above and beyond and finished the entire wall. We Received Outstanding Service

We contacted A&A in February and received excellent customer service in getting connected to our contractor. Our contractor, Dan V. was amazing; he helped us conceptualize the project (a stone retainer wall), the timelines, cost and products needed in a timely and professional way.
Most of all, however, it was the quality of the work; Dan and his team arrived when they said they would, were great communicators, and the quality of their work was really excellent.

We called A&A Masonry to see whether they could help us fix some damage to the mortar & parging on our house. Within a day, Steve was able to come over promptly to give us a detailed quote. He was clear with his recommendations and attentive to our needs. After we accepted the proposal, Andy gave us a call to arrange a convenient time to complete the work. He was quite flexible and offered us many options. About a week later, Dwight showed up at our door early in the morning to start the work. Mortar Repair In Brickwork Around Window

A leak detection company found the source where water was coming into the basement to be holes in the mortar of the bricks around an outside window. Dwight from A&A Masonry did a very good job in filling in the gaps. He was very pleasant, did the work in a timely manner, cleaned up nicely and even went out of his ways to fill in some areas which he noticed that was not part of the original job.

Tuck Pointing, Brick Replacement And Repair.

Joe and Kyle did a wonderful job and were a pleasure to have around for the eight days they were here. The house is 120 years old, so many of the bricks were water-damaged and broken. They found replacement bricks that were an excellent match for the surrounding ones and they also matched the colour of the mortar used. They were meticulous in their work, often going over the same area two or three times to see if they had missed anything. They even removed an ugly electrical wires pipe that had been disconnected in the 1970s and replaced the bricks where it had entered the house, a huge plus. And they cleaned up after themselves. We figure the house is good for another 120 years. We recommend them whole-heartedly.

After getting a few quotes from other companies, I put my trust into AA to do the job right. They were a bit higher compared to others but I wanted expert service and quality work.
Ray was very friendly and provided a detailed quote of the work after an on site visit.

Brick Replacement, Pointing And Parging

Working with A&A was one of the best home repair experiences I’ve had. John, Joe, Kyle and Libby were all really great to work with.
John came by the house for an assessment of the work that needed to be done and was incredibly respectful of my schedule and really worked hard to come by when it was best for us. He spent a good amount of time figuring out exactly what needed to be done and gave us some great advice on how to proceed.
A week later, when the work was scheduled to start, Joe and Kyle came by and completed the job in 2 days. The work they did looked amazing and we were surprised at the fast turn around. They left the property clean and neat and were totally professional and great to have around.
Job came in under budget and communicating with Libby was smooth and painless. I would highly recommend A&A to anyone looking to get masonry done.

Tucked And Pointed

This is the second home we’re had A&A do work on. Joe and Kyle did a beautiful job. They replaced damaged sills, matched the mortar on our 1910 home perfectly, and cleaned up thoroughly after. I cannot thank A & A Masonry enough for sending me Greg, Darren, Jose, Ulysses, Renee and the others. They were from the beginning very supportive and patient. I had many questions and concerns and they assured me of many things. They said their crew Jose and his brother Ulysses and the rest of the crew were amazing, clean and thorough. It was all true. I cannot believe how easy they made this process for me, with little supervision. This company and crew are the real deal and very thorough. I am so pleased with the their crew that I cannot believe how nice and professional they were. Thank you very much for everything. Chimney Rebuild

Basement Waterproofing

I had a problem with water leaking into my basement. A&A Masonary repaired the issue. There were two workers on this project, a lead and a helper. The lead worker Colm kept me informed every step of the way, he was excellent to work with. Once the project was completed both men cleaned up and there was no mess left behind. I was very impressed with the workmanship. We had a rain storm the day after the project and the basement stayed dry.

Great Work

Our front staircase was in horrible condition and in desperate need of replacing. After hearing several radio commercials for A&A Masonry, I decided to give them a call. From my initial call for an estimate to completion of the job A&A were professional and thorough in their work.
Our contractor Jose arrived with his crew on Thursday morning for demolition and by late Saturday afternoon the job was completed. The difference between my old staircase and the new one is like night and day. I should have hired these guys back when I initially wanted to redo my stairs.
Even their payment policy was fair, they didn’t require any money until after the job was completed (who doesn’t want to hold onto their money as long as possible).
Great job A&A, I recommend you guys to everyone I know.

Brick Repair

I own an almost century old home which had deteriorating bricks on three pillars. I called for a consultation and estimate from the lovely folks at A&A Masonry who assured me that it could be taken care of. An estimate was given, and the work was scheduled to be completed in one day. I was sceptical, having dealt with another company previously for a related job who took forever, and the results were less than acceptable. I wish I had called A&A from the start. The work was perfect! Dwight arrived as scheduled and completed the work in hours! Dwight worked miracles, matching the bricks almost perfectly. The pillars look as good as new. Actually better! Everything was carefully cleaned after the work was complete. I was extremely impressed. Professional, courteous, excellent craftsmanship. I will definitely be calling them back for work in the future. And I would wholeheartedly recommend this company. Everyone I dealt with was professional, knowledgeable, and accommodating. Waterproofing

I recently had A&A Masonry perform waterproofing work along one entire side of my house, and found the team (led by Alex) to be very professional, courteous, efficient, and hard working. Upon arrival and a quick introduction, they went straight to work, digging alongside the house down to the bottom of the foundation. Over the course of the following days, they provided us with regular updates on their progress, and took the time to explain their procedures of waterproofing. The team also installed a sump pump neatly in the basement, with very nice clean-up there as well. Getting the waterproofing done was the prime focus, and Alex and his team worked through the Easter long weekend to ensure that all work was done in time. After finishing, they cleaned up the driveway very well, and even dropped by a few weeks later to top up the gravel on the driveway to help level the area where they had excavated. Overall, we are very pleased with the work done by A&A Masonry, and the commitment to customers shown by their workers such as Alex and his team.

Chimney Replacement And Tuckpointing

I was extremely pleased with the service I received from A&A. They played a critical role in completing a necessary multi-stage project on my home.
I needed to replace a worn out chimney before I could replace my shingles which had begun to leak, so I needed masonry services quickly. I had received several estimates from other well-reviewed companies, but none of them would commit to doing the job in a time frame which would allow my overall project to be completed before the storm season arrived. I was thrilled when the booking agent at A&A was able to communicate with one of his crews while I was on the line, and arrange to have them at my home the following morning, with a competitive quote for the chimney and tuckpointing work I required.
The crew was friendly, respectful, and clean, and did excellent quality work, which was completed in 2 days, allowing me to book the second stage of my project.
I would be pleased to recommend A&A Masonry to anyone.

Basement Walkout

I had worked with John, Darren and the crew last year on my front porch and they did a beautiful job. So I was pleased to go with them to redo my concrete basement walkout. There were some uncertainties about the state s of the walls under 3″ of crumbling parging. John answered all my questions patiently, often by SMS late at night. Once the work began, Bryton and his crew were amazing, despite a late winter storm and very cold temperatures. The work is gorgeous, the walls were sound and I am confident in their quality. Very professional, reliable and fair, I would hire them again in the future.

Brick And Window Sill Repair

I had to have my brick window sills replaced, as well as the brick facing on the side of my entrance steps and part of my chimney stack. The experience working with A&A was good from the start. Daniel came out and gave me a quote with no pressure. He was knowledgeable and professional. The masonry guys, James and Mickey did a great job. Outer Brick Wall

Masonry & Bricklaying review in Toronto Over 3 years ago
In 2009 we paid a lot of money to have two walls rebuilt which had suffered major spalling. We were told that they would last as long as we lived in the house. I was not expecting to move after 4 years. After calling in to Frank Cohen’s show on Newstalk 1010 he recommended A & A Masonry for the job. After I left a message they contacted me within 2 hours (24 being their maximum) and then very quickly Bill came to assess the situation. Dwight arrived yesterday and worked a solid 9 hours to replace some of the bricks with cement ones and create a drainage line plus repoint parts of the facade of the house and the basement window. Very happy.

Basement Renovation Project

Basement renovation project for outdoor concrete parging and tuck-pointing; interior water-proofing; installation of a sump pump; and installation of concrete slab floor.
James who handled the outdoor cement parging and tuck-pointing did an excellent job and also provided additional service by matching the outdoor paint job. Great job James!
Colm handled installation of the entire interior water-proofing system, including the water-proof membrane, weeping tile and sump pump. He was very efficient and helpful and did some extra work to ensure we were satisfied with the work. He even came back the next day on his own accord to check that everything was okay and the pump working and answered all our queries. We would highly recommend him to anyone wanting to do basement water-proofing. If you are using A&A for similar service make sure to ask for Colm!!
Moises handled the laying of the cement slab floor. As with the James and Colm, he also made sure that everything was done in an expedient and professional manner and went over and above what the contract specified.
Overall we were very satisfied with the services provided, especially as we needed the work to be completed in a short time span.

Waterproofing

We had a leak in our basement weeks before we were preparing to list our house for sale. After researching online and interviewing a few different contractors, we decided to hire A&A Masonry. Greg, was the first on site and after a thorough inspection, determined it was in fact a foundation leak. He took looks of pictures, explained in detail what was required and set out to getting it repaired in quickly manner knowing we wanted to get our house listed. An interior waterproofing crew was dispatched within a few days. Colm and Jeremy arrived to our house on time and did a great job getting the waterproofing completed quickly and efficiently. Cement Block Repairs

Great customer service. This company keeps in touch. I contacted them through their internet page , had a quote & work was completed all within a week. I had garage walls tuck pointed, cement blocks repaired and parged. Also a large hole repaired at the base of front steps.
